- Driver in Training, Relief Driver, or Route Driver (DOE)

Immediate. Schedule ends on the last day of school.

• Drive school bus safely and professionally.
• Handle stressful conditions in a professional manner.
• Perform daily pre‑trip inspections.
• Comply with all traffic ordinances and district disciplinary policies.
• Maintain patience, neatness, and courteous demeanor toward students.
• Participate in on‑site training and demonstrate proficiency in bus operation.
• Supervise students while transporting them.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Pass DOT pre‑employment physical and drug screen.
• Pass an Oregon Department of Education background check.
• Provide a 3‑ to 5‑year driving record.
• Obtain a Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP) before start (Driver in Training).
• Complete ODE training and pass CDL test to become a Relief Driver.
• Pass State School Bus Skills Tests.
• For Route Driver, additional experience as a Relief Driver (≈6 months) and availability of an open route.
• For Relief Driver, be an on‑call position; hours vary with availability.

• Drug screening.
• Background investigation.
• CDL physical.
• Clearance of all background checks and physicals is required for employment.
