Loads, unloads and packages all materials for the manufacturing line. Drives a forklift for the assigned department. Ensures material accuracy and schedule adherence. Performs other tasks as required.
Responsibilities- Moves material within a storage facility to and from the loading area using a forklift truck.
- Sorts and distributes material to various areas following work order instructions.
- Counts, and records number of units of materials moved or handled.
- Attaches identifying tag or labels to materials or marks information on pallets.
- Refuels lift truck and conducts safety inspections.
- Performs cycle counts and inventory to ensure material availability and system accuracy.
- Organizes materials in the assigned warehouse.
- Cross trains along the line.
- Knowledge of safety standards applicable to the work area and other pertinent rules/ regulations governing work standards.
- Knowledge of receiving procedures.
- Knowledge of mathematics to add and subtract.
- Skill in driving lift trucks.
- Ability to understand and follow directions.
- Ability to work independently.
High School Graduate or GED.
ExperiencePlus one year of warehouse experience.
Physical RequirementsContinuous physical exertion is required, such as walking/pushing/climbing and lifting material or equipment of heavy weight of 50 to 100 pounds.
EnvironmentLocated in an indoor area with frequent exposure to mild physical discomfort from dust, fumes, temperature extremes, loud noises and bright lights. Examples: mail clerks, material handlers and food service workers.
