Manufacturing Engineering Technician - Knightdale, NC
Job Overview As a Manufacturing Engineering Technician, you will support Manufacturing Engineers with a primary focus on building a zero-incident safety culture grounded in "Think Safe, Work Safe, Go Home Safe." Also, contribute to the design and improvement of processes that eliminate risk while optimizing labor and material efficiency. Lastly, create documentation to standardize daily manufacturing operations, in addition to delivering measurable cost reductions that improve business profitability.
A Day In The Life
Safety Leadership Uphold a zero-incident safety culture aligned with proactively identifying, assessing, and eliminating risks through engineering controls and process design. Integrate safety into all process development, equipment design, and continuous improvement initiatives Partner with EHS and Operations too:
Conduct risk assessments (JSAs, PFMEAs) Investigate incidents and develop corrective actions Drive behavior-based safety engagement Ensure all processes, tooling, and layouts meet or exceed safety standards and regulatory requirements
Manufacturing Engineering Support Collaborate with a team of Manufacturing Engineers to deliver impactful results Execute on clear expectations, priorities, and accountability aligned to business objectives Support the design of jigs and fixtures for ease of manufacturing Participate in the design, development, and implementation of new manufacturing processes both physically and through ERP system SAP. Support smooth new product and project transitions into production Engage in cross-functional projects across Operations, Quality, and Engineering
Productivity & Cost Improvement Achieve measurable improvements in:
Labor efficiency Material utilization Overall cost per unit Play a role in continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, Lean, CI projects) Conduct time studies and optimize workflow to remove waste. Support MEs in executing Automation, Standardization and Process Simplification opportunities.
Quality and Change Management Partner with Quality to Support ISO
9001 accreditation through:
Supporting the Implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) Implement engineering changes, deviations, and specifications Ensure clear communication and effective rollout of changes to the production floor through proper Engineering Change Control Process

Qualifications Associates/Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field (preferred) Demonstrated success in driving safety improvements, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and delivering cost savings (labor/material) Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and process optimization Ability to perform time studies and labor analysis Understanding of Industrial engineering principles Exposure to SAP/ERP systems Solidworks experience preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project)
