Knoxville Community School District is seeking qualified candidates for the 2026–2027 school year.
Required Qualifications or willing to obtain through conditional licensure:
- A Bachelor's Degree
- Current Iowa License with K-6 Teacher Elementary Classroom - 102 endorsement
- K-12 Instructional Strategist II: BD/LD - 263 or K-12 Strategist I and II
- All - 259 - K-12 Instructional Strategist II: - 264 or K-12 Strategist I and II
- All - 259 - Successful teaching experience preferred
- Reading endorsement and LETRS training preferred
This position is located at West Elementary.
Primary Responsibilities- Provide instruction and support for elementary students with diverse learning needs
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive practices
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction
- Build strong relationships with students and families
- Contribute to a positive and supportive school culture
- Conduct assessments and diagnostic evaluations to identify student needs
- Participates in IEP meetings and develops Individualized Education Plans
- Implements IEPs and behavior intervention plans
- Collaborates with staff, families, and outside agencies
- Supports students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth
- Maintains accurate records and monitors student progress
- Oversee para educators working with identified students
- Encourages family engagement and communication
- Participates in ongoing professional learning
- Current minimum annual salary: approximately $51,289.00 for the 26-27 school year.
- Placement on the salary schedule will be based on education and experience.
