What You’ll Do- Prepare and post journal entries for production, labor, overhead, and inventory
- Analyze manufacturing costs and explain variances vs. standard/budget
- Support month-end and year-end close activities
- Partner with plant leadership to improve financial visibility
- Maintain accurate inventory across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
- Support cycle counts and physical inventory processes
- Investigate discrepancies and manage reserves/obsolescence
- Collaborate with operations to validate production reporting
- Review invoices, manage accruals, and reconcile accounts
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of plant-related transactions
- Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders
- Work within AS/400 (IBM i); SAP transition planned for 2026
- Deliver P&L analysis, cost reporting, and variance insights
- Maintain compliance with internal controls and audit standards
- Drive process improvements and system enhancements
- Hybrid role: 2–3 days/week onsite at our manufacturing facility in Newport, TN
- Open to candidates located in the Knoxville, TN area
- Up to 25% travel to support operations and inventory activities
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2–5 years of manufacturing accounting experience (required)
- Experience with cost accounting, inventory, and plant operations
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (AS/400 and/or SAP preferred)
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- High attention to detail and accountability
- Standard costing and variance analysis expertise
- Experience supporting manufacturing plants
- CPA or CMA (or in progress)
- Direct impact on operations and plant performance
- Collaborative, fast-paced, and improvement-driven culture
- Exposure to ERP transformation (SAP implementation)
- Work alongside leaders in manufacturing excellence
