Senior Accountant

A growing West Knoxville company is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its accounting team. This individual will play a key role in supporting financial operations, contract administration, and reporting activities in a compliance-driven environment.

The Senior Staff Accountant will partner closely with the Finance Leader to ensure accuracy in financial reporting, maintain compliance with applicable standards, and support contract-related financial processes. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, attention to detail, and experience working in structured or regulated environments.

• Record and reconcile financial transactions and maintain accurate records
• Prepare and analyze financial reports in accordance with GAAP
• Support accounts payable, payroll and general accounting processes
• Support contract administration and proposal-related financial components
• Review project financials for compliance with budget and requirements
• Monitor project budgets, funding levels, and financial performance
• Handle compliance items & assist with audits/reviews

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience (stable work history a must)
• Payroll experience a plus
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience with Quick Books is a must & advanced Excel preferred
