Front Desk & Patient Care Coordinator

Marino Physiotherapy | Knoxville, TN

Full-time | Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. | $20/hour

Are you the person who notices the little things other people miss?

Do you like arriving early, getting organized before the day starts, and knowing exactly what needs to be done? Can you answer a ringing phone, greet a patient, and keep the schedule moving without losing track of the details?

If so, we'd like to meet you.

About the Role

Marino Physiotherapy is a private practice known for high-quality, 1-on-1 care. We're looking for a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Front Desk & Patient Care Coordinator to open the clinic each morning, take care of our patients, and keep the day running smoothly.

Patients will interact with you from their first phone call through their last visit. Whether you're scheduling an appointment, answering a question, taking a payment, or letting someone know what to expect next, you'll shape their experience with us.

What We Offer
  • $20/hour
  • $1.875/hour healthcare stipend (about $300/month)
  • 2 weeks of paid time off, plus major holidays
  • Opportunities for profit sharing
  • A consistent weekday schedule, with evenings and weekends free
  • Training on our systems and on insurance verification
What You'll Do Take Care of Our Patients
  • Welcome patients and create a warm, professional front-desk experience.
  • Answer calls and route messages to the right person.
  • Help patients with scheduling, appointment questions, and general needs.
  • Receive and document referrals.
  • Communicate clearly with patients, therapists, and the administrative team.
Keep the Day Moving
  • Open the clinic and complete daily front-office tasks.
  • Schedule and reschedule appointments, and keep the schedule accurate.
  • Track cancellations and openings, and communicate scheduling needs to the clinical team.
  • Spot small problems and address them before they become bigger ones.
Support Insurance and Administrative Work

Insurance verification is part of this role but not its main focus. You don't need to know every plan on day one; we'll train you. We need someone who asks questions, pays attention, and becomes proficient over time.

  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, including visit limits and authorization requirements.
  • Accurately document insurance and patient information.
  • Explain basic coverage to patients when appropriate, and know when to pass a question to the billing team.
  • Take and document patient payments.
  • Assist with medical records requests and other administrative tasks.
You’ll Be a Great Fit If You:
  • Like being early. You'd rather arrive with time to settle in than rush in at the last minute.
  • Notice the little things. You catch missing information, spot what doesn't look right, and double-check your work.
  • Stay organized. You keep up with calls, schedules, paperwork, and follow-ups without letting anything slip.
  • Communicate well. You're comfortable with patients and teammates, even when the front desk gets busy.
  • Think through problems. When something doesn't make sense, you want to understand why.
  • Take ownership. If something needs to be done, you handle it without waiting to be asked.
  • Enjoy people. You know a good front-desk experience can make a real difference for a patient.
  • Love to learn. You're curious, ask questions, and pick up new systems quickly.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Front-desk, receptionist, administrative, or healthcare experience preferred.
  • Medical office, physical therapy, or insurance verification experience is a plus.
  • Comfortable learning electronic medical record and practice management systems.
  • Strong computer and data-entry skills.
  • Commitment to patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
