About the Role

The Axle Logistics Claims Department is seeking a highly detail-oriented, organized, and motivated individual to join the team as a Claims Processor.

The Claims Processor is responsible for utilizing critical thinking and sound decision-making to support the claims and risk management process, helping achieve optimal customer outcomes while minimizing loss to Axle Logistics.

This role requires maintaining detailed documentation of claim communications, organizing initial claim information, and ensuring accurate and concise recordkeeping throughout the claims lifecycle. The Claims Processor will play an integral role in maintaining claim details used for tracking, monitoring, and reporting.

What You’ll Do Claims Processing & Administration
  • Ensure claims are received and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Follow up on missing documentation and investigate information needed to process claims.
  • Review claim submissions and verify information for accuracy and completeness.
  • Oversee data entry and documentation for each claim from initial submission through completion.
  • Assess appropriate next steps in the claims process based on the information and values provided.
  • Process claim payments accurately and efficiently.
Carrier, Insurance & Customer Communication
  • Compile information necessary to notify carriers and insurance providers of claims.
  • Conduct regular follow-ups with adjusters and carriers regarding claim status.
  • Provide timely and professional claim updates to customers.
  • Maintain detailed records of communications with adjusters, customers, carriers, and other involved parties.
Compliance & Record keeping
  • Maintain organized and accurate claim records to support tracking, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Ensure documentation remains complete and current throughout the claims lifecycle.
  • Comply with applicable federal, state, and company regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform additional administrative and clerical responsibilities as required.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a claims processor or in a related role.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to correspond professionally with adjusters, customers, and carriers.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of the insurance industry and relevant federal and state regulations; familiarity with the freight or transportation industry is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
  • Excellent critical-thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Strong administrative and record keeping abilities.
  • Commitment to providing excellent customer service.
  • Ability to effectively organize, prioritize, and manage claim-related responsibilities.
