About the role
Axle Logistics is seeking a highly motivated candidate that thrives in an environment where hard work truly pays off. Based in the brand-new Knoxville, TN headquarters, this highly competitive Summer Internship Program grants exposure to the fast-paced world of Logistics. Responsible for collaborating with its internal Axle team, this internship provides the skills and techniques to be a successful salesperson, account manager, and operations manager in an ever-changing and dynamic industry.
In this rotational program, you take on the full scope of our Logistics Consultant role which involves sales, account management, and operations.
What you'll do
- Lead generation
- Qualifying leads
- Account Management
- Operations Management
- Identifying key decision-makers
- Utilizing our TMS System (McLeod Software)
- Load Building and Planning
- Building out an organizational chart of key participants
- Utilizing internal CRM to capture all corresponding information
- Making contact with an identified decision-maker
- Selling Axle Logistics and its portfolio of services
- Negotiation of contracts and rates
- Implementation of services
- Highly motivated candidates looking to expand industry knowledge
- Strong email, phone, and face-to-face communication skills
- Fast learner capable of working independently as well as a team
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Interest in a future career in third party logistics
