Rogers Group is seeking a skilled and dependable Dirt Crew Carpenter to support construction and site development operations. Based out of Knoxville, TN, this role is responsible for building, setting, and maintaining forms and structures used in earthwork, concrete placement, grading, and heavy civil construction projects. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced outdoor environment. Competitive wages with additional compensation for verified experience.
Responsibilities- Build, set, and strip concrete forms for footings, slabs, curbs, and other structures
- Perform rough carpentry to support dirt crew operations, including erosion control and site preparation
- Assist with layout, measuring, and grading preparations alongside operators and laborers
- Install stakes, batter boards, and other layout markers for excavation and grading
- Work around heavy equipment (dozers, excavators, haul trucks) safely and efficiently
- Maintain tools, materials, and job site cleanliness
- Follow project plans, blueprints, and supervisor direction
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with company safety policies and OSHA regulations
- Previous experience in construction carpentry, preferably in grading, excavation, or heavy civil work
- Ability to read basic blueprints and construction plans (preferred)
- Experience working on a dirt crew or similar outdoor construction environment is a plus
- Strong understanding of concrete forming and site layout practices
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding work in varying weather conditions
- Reliable transportation and strong attendance record
- Able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration requirement
