Skilled General Construction professional needed for a large manufacturing company located in Knoxville, TN. This role will perform a variety of jobs during all phases of construction. Were looking for a highly productive, reliable and trustworthy construction worker to join our teams at various sites. The role entails a wide range of tasks, from basic to difficult to hazardous. These may include clearing and preparing a site;
building scaffolds, barricades, bracing, and other structures; and operating concrete mixers, jackhammers, saws, drills, and more. This role is Monday
- Friday with occasional overtime available.
Starting pay rate is $25.00 per hour. This is a 6 month contract-to-hire position with the ability to be hired full time with one of the top manufacturing companies in the Knoxville area.
This is a 1st shift (day shift) position and must have a valid driver's license as this position will drive between various facilities and locations to perform general maintenance and construction tasks.
Job Duties /Responsibilities:Essential Functions
- Finish general construction tasks according to blueprints
- Operate heavy machinery and equipment at construction sites
- Assist craft workers such as contractors, electricians, and painters when necessary
- Follow health and safety guidelines at all job sites
- Maintain clear communication with supervisors, as well as with homeowners at job sites
Skills:
Knowledge
This position requires a High School diploma or GED
Experience
Three to five years experience in the construction or building maintenance field.
Skills
Required- Experience in performing general labor and construction
- Commitment to doing quality work while putting safety first
- Valid drivers license and dependable transportation
- Proven Track record of trustworthiness
- Ability to do light electrical
- Familiarity with how to read blueprints
