School of Business Affiliate Faculty

The School of Business & Public Leadership (SoBPL) at Johnson University is seeking dynamic Christian leaders to teach undergraduate Business Administration courses on our Tennessee campus (Knoxville, Tennessee) beginning Spring 2024. Johnson University seeks to build a pool of qualified persons who can teach undergraduate coursework specific to Management and Business. Affiliate faculty generally teach one or two courses per term depending upon class enrollments and credit hours associated with the course.

Courses will be taught in a face-to-face format.

Required Experience

Master's degree with eighteen graduate semester hours in Business Administration or Management from a regionally accredited university (minimum); or a terminal degree in Business Administration/Management from a regionally accredited university (preferred). Those with particular skills in teaching quantitative methods courses such as economics, business analytics, operations management, and management science will be highly considered.

Affiliate Faculty Position Summary

The School of Business and Public Leadership (SoBPL) at Johnson University is seeking dynamic Christian leaders to teach site-based/on-ground undergraduate Business Administration/Management courses. Affiliate faculty generally teach one or two courses per term depending upon class enrollments and credit hours associated with the course. Site-based/on ground courses are taught for an entire semester (16 weeks).

Requirements

* Master's degree with eighteen graduate semester hours in Business Administration/Management from a regionally accredited university (minimum); or a terminal degree in Business Administration/Management from a regionally accredited university.

* Ability to clearly convey information and ideas to others and demonstrate active listening skills.

* Proficiency in the use of standard office and internet applications on personal computers.

* Obtain proficiency (with provided training) in the Sakai learning management platform.

* Fully support the Mission of Johnson University, Statement of Faith, and Faculty Community Covenant.

Key Qualifications

* Design and deliver class instruction through the development of lesson plans to meet course competencies, develop activities which support lesson objectives, and develop activities to assist students to develop critical thinking skills and practically engage with the materials.

* Design interactive and teaching learning strategies that are diverse, experiential, participatory, and collaborative with the goal of accommodating various learning styles.

* Experienced practitioner/scholar - abreast of developments within business administration and practical knowledge gained from organizational experience.

* Knowledge of and commitment to use email, a learning management system, and other emerging technologies and alternative instructional delivery methods.

* Ability to effectively communicate interpersonally (in classroom and one-on-one settings).

* Attend affiliate faculty orientation and training, and participate in the annual SoBPL faculty retreat.
