About the PositionThe Pre-licensure Nursing Coach supports upper division nursing students and faculty in early identification, intervention, and remediation of potential obstacles that hinder academic progress to increase tenacity, retention, and NCLEX performance. Develops and implements innovative and creative academic solutions to increase pass rates for nursing students. As a registered nurse, this position serves as a mentor to nursing students promoting academic success and professional development for their nursing career path.
PrimaryDuties
- Provides one-on-one coaching to nursing students on academic performance, study strategies, time management, stress management, and other issues impacting their success.
- Develops personalized success plans for at-risk students to address academic deficiencies.
- Monitors progress of students throughout the semester; meet as necessary to promote success and develop remediation plan.
- Facilitates appropriate remediation instructions to at-risk students based on individual student NCLEX prep results.
- Mentors students related to Academic Service Learning (ASL) to ensure students are completing requirements.
- Collaborates with faculty and administration to develop programs that support student success within the nursing program.
- Identifies trends in student performance and recommends initiatives to improve outcomes.
- Facilitates workshops or seminars on topics relevant to nursing student success.
- Registered Nurse
- Master's degree in Nursing
- 3+ years' nursing experience in a clinical setting
