21st Century Tutor - North Ridge Crossing

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The 21st Century Tutor is responsible for providing after-school tutoring services to support student learning and development, including academic enrichment, mentoring, tutoring, and homework help as required by the 21st Century/LEAP grants.

KEY ROLES (Essential

Job Responsibilities ):

Program Development and Implementation Provides academic tutoring to students

Develops individual, small group, and large group academic lesson plans appropriate for students in the program

Teaches and evaluates academic lessons

Maintains contact with each child's classroom teacher, in person, or via telephone or email, to coordinate after school lessons with classroom teacher curriculum

Helps students develop positive self-confidence, raise self-concept, and reduce anxiety or fear of failure in academic work Assists students in achieving a better understanding of specific subject material and in improving academic capabilities in designated areas

Maintains records on each student who is being tutored, including follow-up and periodic assessments. Keeps a daily running record of student response and progress

Submits all administrative paperwork, such as time sheets, correctly and on time Ensures confidentiality of records and information is maintained at all times

Completes/assists with SWORPS data entry on a weekly basis and mid-year and year-end reports as directed by the Program DirectorINDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITY:

Dependability – proven ability to complete all tasks as assigned in an organized manner

Ensures appropriate responses to all organizational correspondence using brand appropriate language and logos

Dedication to service – demonstrated regular Attendance/Punctuality and an ability to learn and develop new skills

Commitment and attitude that personifies a positive attitude at all times and the ability to multi-task Professionalism in appearance, ensuring that dress is professional and appropriate for function/situation based on organizational dress code policies

Specific Individual measurable outcomes as determined by supervisor SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

REQUIRED:

Minimum BA or BS degree

Ideal candidate is a certified teacher

Has experience tutoring childrenPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Must be able to lift 20 pounds

Must be able to remain alert and energetic for 8 hours or more

Must be able to move quickly to keep up with youth
