Impact
  • Design roadways and drainage for TDOT (or other DOT clients) with the ability to perform geometric roadway design and assist in analyses, developing calculations, and preparing contract documents (PS&E) in accordance with state and local agency requirements.
  • Work within a team of roadway engineers in the preparation of design and contract documents for transportation projects.
  • Manage and maintain project documentation, including meeting project schedules, budgets, and scope.
  • Adaptability to partner with Lochner offices throughout the firm through work-sharing to deliver projects on‑time and within budget.
Who You Are
  • BS in Civil Engineering required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.
  • Candidate may report in‑office or work a hybrid schedule. TN resident highly preferred.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in roadway design and plan preparation on transportation projects for DOT clients.
  • TDOT experience is preferred.
  • Experience in Microstation required and Open Roads designer is a plus.
  • Drainage, stormwater and erosion control design experience is a plus.
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Traffic modeling, roundabout design, drainage design and/or highway lighting design experience is a plus.
