Who You Are

A Mid-Career Engineer, who can succeed behind the computer, in the fabrication shop or in front of a client. With an appreciation for hands work on youwill play a critical role in supporting project management, design, testing,and execution of a variety of projects. This role requires experience in project management, mechanical design, process design, business development, and the ability to collaborate across departments, including engineering,manufacturing, and project management teams.

A Day in theLife of a Project Engineer

Our customers trust us to help them develop simple, effective and deployable solutions totheir most complex challenges. For thatreason, we are seeking an experienced "Project Engineer" in our Knoxville TN facility. This person will support our customers in developing and managing projects from the proposal phase, through design, fabrication, testing and delivery all the way through start-up at customer sites. Through all of this, youwill be showcasing AVANTech equipment and technologies and demonstrating and maturing solutions for our customers.
  • Assist inproject planning, proposal generation, and cost estimation.
  • Support/Assist in system design and development, utilizing AutoCAD 2D and/or Solid Works 3D for modeling and technical drawings.
  • Develop work packages for fabrication and work closely with production and quality teams.
  • Ensure compliance with design specifications, industry standards, and project requirements.
  • Size and specify pumps, valves and other process equipment.
  • Perform basic process and structural engineering evaluations and calculations for pressure,flow, seismic, strength of materials, etc.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to specify, quote and procure components and materials.
  • Track project progress, manage risks, manage budgets and ensure timely execution ofdeliverables.
  • Support testing and commissioning of systems, including writing test plans and validating system performance.
  • Provide light design work for modifications and improvements to existing systems.
  • Assist in business development efforts by identifying opportunities, supporting proposals, and engaging with potential clients.
  • Help customers develop new capabilities and technologies by providing technical expertise and innovative solutions.
  • Communicate with internal teams and clients to ensure project alignment.
Requirements and Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor'sdegree in Mechanical, Nuclear or Civil Engineering (other related fields may be considered).

5-10 years minimum experience in project engineering, project management, design, orrelated technical roles.

Proficiency inAutoCAD 2D and/or Solid Works 3D modeling software is preferred.

Experience within the commercial nuclear industry & DOE is a plus.

Ability toperform basic engineering calculations and evaluations.

Experience in liquid& solid radwaste processing is a plus.

Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability tomanage multiple projects and adapt to changing schedules.

Experience inwriting process descriptions, engineering specifications and test plans is aplus.

Working knowledge of ASME, ANS, AWS, and other relevant industry codes.

Business development experience or exposure to client engagement is a plus.

Additional Requirements:

All candidates must be able to pass a drug test, pre-employment physical, and background investigation.

Must be a US Citizen
