Job Summary

The ideal candidate is an Electrical Engineer competent and confident in power generation and distribution. This Design Lead will oversee multiple projects, work with internal and external teams to deliver projects that meet owner objectives, and support Business Development by soliciting and securing new work, implementing goals, and identifying prospective markets and clients.

General Duties
  • Develop electrical design packages from conceptual to IFC level for power generation and distribution, specifying all protective devices, relays, instruments, transformers, breakers, alternators, grounding components, and power/control wiring.
  • Understand design limitations and routing of conduit, cable tray, trench duct for high‑density power applications.
  • Coordinate closely with vendor packagers to develop cost‑effective and timely design solutions for highly technical applications.
  • Use ETAP or SKM for modeling, understanding systems coordination, arc flash, grounding, and Neher‑McGrath.
  • Create one‑lines, three‑lines, breaker control diagrams, power plans, and systems plans.
  • Apply IEEE, UL, NEMA, NFPA standards for renewables, harmonics, generation, energy storage, hazardous area, and industrial systems.
  • Take ownership and review vendor shop drawings for GIS switch gear, substation transformers, DCU/PLC enclosures, Microgrid controllers, and complete generation systems. Communicate effectively with architects, owners, and contractors.
  • Work well independently and as part of a strong team.
  • Demonstrate excellent organization and time‑management skills.
Qualifications
  • BS in Electrical Engineering.
  • 5‑15 years of experience with complex electrical systems in the industrial and power generation sector.
  • Registered Professional Engineering license preferred.
  • Experience with Revit.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills essential for team‑based projects.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills required for simultaneous project schedules.
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and willing to take on new challenges.
  • Willing to travel.

Location: This role may sit out of any of our office locations.
