Where You’ll Work:

The Y12 National Security Complex located in Oak Ridge, TN, plays a vital role in the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Nuclear Security Enterprise. Y‑12 provides manufacturing, technical, and scientific expertise to produce components, subassemblies, and quality evaluations to sustain a U.S. nuclear deterrent; reduce the threat from weapons of mass destruction; supply nuclear material to the Naval Reactors Program; and provide solutions to other emerging national security challenges.

Y‑12 has developed state‑of‑the‑art capabilities in three core areas: nuclear technology and materials, security and consequence management, and manufacturing and technical services. Y‑12 lends its specialized expertise to other federal agencies, such as the U.S. Departments of Defense (DOD) and Homeland Security, state and local governments, and private‑sector companies. Projects at Y‑12 include providing protective equipment to soldiers in combat, training National Guard units for radiological emergencies, and creating machining platforms that improve production and efficiency.

The LFP Project Scheduler is responsible for executing technical activities of assigned projects to ensure efficient and timely completion of work in accordance with Government and Plant directives. Plans, coordinates, and directs activities to meet demands of Project Management (PM) mission in accordance with assigned organizational authorities and responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical aptitude, integration and leadership for planning, scheduling, monitoring, configuration control, analysis, and reporting on multiple scopes of varying size, complexity, and level of risk.
  • Ensure Project Managers are provided with tools to confirm projects are on track, within budget and within compliance of requirements.
  • Participate in planning, development, monitoring, and control of project scope, cost, and schedule integration.
  • Utilize tools and systems necessary to effectively and proactively manage, control, and report on cost and schedule for concurrent projects.
  • Manage development of cost, schedule, and risk plans, collection of performance data, tracking data, analysis, development of forecast of estimate to complete, and reporting.
  • Ensure identification and tracking of changes/potential changes to project scope, ensuring estimates of cost changes and schedule impact are given visibility with client and PM.
