Position: RELIABILITY ENGINEER - MANUFACTURING | KNOXVILLE

Reliability Engineer – Manufacturing – Knoxville, TN

Our client, a growing manufacturer in the plastics sector, is seeking a hands‑on Reliability Engineer to lead and build the reliability program at their Knoxville-area facility. This is a high‑impact position where you’ll work directly on the plant floor to improve equipment performance, reduce downtime, and drive long‑term operational results.

To be considered for this role, you must have 2 to 5 years of experience in reliability engineering or maintenance engineering within manufacturing, a 3 or 4‑year Bachelor’s degree, preferably in an engineering‑related discipline, and reside in or relocate to the Knoxville, TN area.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead and develop the plant’s reliability program to support safe, efficient, and compliant operations
  • Partner with Maintenance, Production, and Engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and maintainability
  • Drive root cause analysis (RCA) initiatives and implement long‑term corrective actions
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve preventive maintenance (PM) programs
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve predictive maintenance (PdM) strategies
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve condition monitoring and non‑destructive testing methods
  • Analyze recurring equipment failures and implement solutions that improve operating costs, safety, and regulatory compliance
  • Provide technical support during routine and critical equipment issues
  • Develop and deliver training programs to strengthen maintenance team capabilities
  • Support reliability improvements across utilities and facilities, controls and safety systems
What You Bring (Must‑Haves)
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
  • 2–5 years of experience in one or more of the following: reliability engineering, maintenance engineering, manufacturing equipment support
  • Strong experience with root cause analysis (RCA) and preventive and predictive maintenance programs
  • Hands‑on troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment
  • Comfortable working directly on the plant floor
  • Strong problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills
Nice to Have
  • Previous experience as a Maintenance Supervisor, Technician, or Manager
  • Experience in plastics or continuous manufacturing environments
  • Base salary range $85,000 – $95,000 (commensurate with experience)
  • Relocation assistance provided for qualified candidates
