Operations Manager
Job Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Die Cast Engineering Manager to join our innovative manufacturing team. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and optimization of die casting processes to produce high-quality metal components efficiently and reliably. Your expertise will drive continuous improvement initiatives, ensure compliance with industry standards, and support the integration of advanced engineering tools.

- Oversee the design and development of die casting dies and trim tooling.
- Develop annual and semi-annual action plans that correspond with company initiatives.
- Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce defects, and reduce carbon footprints.
- Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues.
- Ensure compliance with industry, company standards, and safety regulations.
- Manage engineering projects, budgets, and timelines.
- Train and mentor engineering staff on best practices in die casting.
- Work with suppliers and vendors to source materials and equipment.
- Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Submit proposals considered feasible to management for consideration and allocation of funds, or allocate funds from the department budget.
- Supervise members in the Production Engineering Department.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
- Interview, hire, and train members; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline members; address complaints and resolve problems.
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university, or seven (7) to ten (10) years related experience and high school diploma or G.E.D., or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of experience in die casting or related manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
- Strong knowledge of die design, metallurgy, and process optimization.
- Leadership experience in managing engineering teams.
- Proficiency in CAD software and simulation tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Familiarity with IATF and ISO Standards.
Must be willing and available to travel to such locations and with such frequency as is necessary and desirable to meet business needs, including 1–2 weeks internationally.
Work Environment Requirements- Must be able to operate a personal computer, telephone, and other office equipment.
- Must perform job duties onsite when necessary, except those duties customarily or by nature performed onsite (e.g., onsite customer visits).
- Must work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Must work on multiple assignments at once and complete them within deadline and budget with satisfactory quality.
- Must operate as an effective team member.
- Must be committed to a high standard of safety and willing to comply with all safety laws and company safety policies.
- Must maintain an acceptable attendance record and be willing to work weekends and holidays as necessary to meet business needs.
