Metal Panel Estimator

The Metal Panel Estimator will be responsible for evaluating project requirements, preparing cost estimates, and ensuring metal panel solutions meet both technical specifications and client expectations. This position requires strong analytical skills, knowledge of diverse insulated and non-insulated metal panel materials, and a collaborative mindset.

• Review project specifications, architectural and structural drawings, and technical documentation to assess acoustical requirements.
• Conduct site visits when necessary to gather relevant data and understand project scope.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for metal panel materials, labor, and installation.
• Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to obtain pricing and ensure accurate budgeting.
• Develop and refine estimating templates and methodologies for improved efficiency and consistency.
• Compile comprehensive bid packages, including cost breakdowns, timelines, and technical specifications.
• Assist the sales and project management teams with client presentations and clarifications regarding estimates.
• Work closely with design teams, contractors, and clients to ensure alignment on project goals and expectations.
• Provide technical guidance on metal panel solutions and recommend cost-effective alternatives when applicable.
• Identify potential risks or challenges in project execution related to metal panel systems.
• Ensure all estimates comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and client requirements.
• Maintain an organized database of historical estimates, project costs, and supplier information.
• Generate periodic reports on estimation accuracy and project performance for continuous improvement.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field. (preferred)
• Minimum of 3 years experience as an estimator in the commercial insulated and non-insulated metal panel industry (preferred)
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and/or drawings
• Experience using Blue Beam, GDS, Partner Pak, Onscreen Takeoff and Quick Bid, or another take-off software
• High School Diploma or Equivalent (required)

• Proficiency in estimation software and tools (e.g., Bluebeam, GDS, Partner Pak, OST/QB).
• Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and engineering drawings.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management capabilities.
• Estimating experience in Mission Critical and Advanced Manufacturing building types.
