Product Configuration CAD Drafter (AutoCAD/Micro Station)
Knoxville, TN | Contract-to-Hire (6 months before permanent hire)
Join a respected manufacturing organization and help transform customer requirements into precise, production-ready documentation—by refining standard product designs rather than creating from scratch.

Collaborate daily with project managers, drafters, and engineering to move projects efficiently.
Build portfolio depth in both AutoCAD and Micro Station while working cross-functionally.
Key outcomes
Deliver timely, accurate drawing revisions aligned with customer specifications and established standards.
Maintain clear documentation and revision history throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure designs are manufacturable and meet internal quality expectations.
Core responsibilities
Modify existing product drawings to match project and customer requirements.
Create and update detailed technical drawings in AutoCAD and Micro Station.
Partner with project managers, drafters, and other teams to confirm feasibility and accuracy.
Interpret customer requests and incorporate design changes while preserving design standards.
Support engineering and production with well-structured, accurate documentation.
Control drawing updates, revisions, and records from kickoff through release.
Qualifications2+ years of design work in manufacturing, industrial, or engineering environments.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Micro Station; comfort with 3D and general CAD workflows.
Experience revising existing designs to align with customer specifications.
High attention to detail, organization, and time management.
Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced setting.
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Associate/technical degree in Drafting, Design, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred (not required).Preferred proficienciesCAD Software Mechanical Design & Engineering3D Design
