Position Summary:The Accounting Specialist supports the financial operations of Fountain Equipment Finance by maintaining accurate accounting records, reconciling accounts, preparing financial reporting, and ensuring the integrity of portfolio-related transactions. This role partners closely with operations, lending, and finance teams to support timely reporting, regulatory compliance, and sound financial management while helping drive operational efficiency and portfolio growth.
MajorDuties and Responsibilities:

- Prepare and post journal entries related to equipment lease and loan transactions.
- Process, review, and reconcile daily accounting activity, including cash receipts, payments, payoffs, adjustments, and other portfolio-related transactions, to ensure timely and accurate posting.
- Review customer payments, payoff transactions, fee assessments, and account adjustments for accuracy and proper accounting treatment.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and subsidiary systems to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations and support the month-end closing process.
- Monitor equipment finance funding activity and verify the accuracy of booked transactions.
- Maintain accurate customer, contract, equipment, and accounting data within applicable servicing, accounting, and core banking systems.
- Track and maintain accounting records for financed equipment, residual values, and related assets.
- Assist with revenue recognition and income reporting associated with equipment finance products.
- Prepare reports and analyses related to portfolio performance, yields, balances, and financial trends.
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies, out-of-balance conditions, and transaction exceptions.
- Maintain organized accounting documentation and supporting records in accordance with company retention standards, audit requirements, and regulatory expectations.
- Support internal and external audit requests by gathering documentation and preparing account analyses.
- Assist in the preparation of regulatory, financial, and management reporting.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and applicable banking regulations.
- Maintain and improve accounting procedures, controls, and documentation related to equipment finance operations.
- Partner with Credit, Operations, Servicing, Treasury, and Finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities for the Equipment Finance division.
- Participate in system implementations, process improvements, and special projects as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all applicable federal, state, and local banking and industry-related laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act.
Qualifications:
- Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field desired. - Three (3) or more years of accounting, finance, banking, leasing, or equipment finance experience preferred.
- Experience with general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close processes required.
- Experience in equipment finance, commercial lending, lease accounting, or financial services preferred.
- CPA designation or progress toward CPA certification is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial analysis tools.
- Ability to prepare, analyze, and interpret financial reports and supporting schedules.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
