We are seeking a detail-oriented, relationship-focused Loan Assistant to support our production team and play a critical role in the equipment financing process. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced lenders, interact with clients and vendors across multiple states, and contribute to a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

- Assisting lenders with preparing and processing commercial equipment loan applications
- Collecting and verifying borrower documentation, including financial statements, insurance, and equipment invoices
- Ordering and reviewing third-party reports such as UCC searches, appraisals, and lien filings
- Ensuring loan packages meet internal policy and regulatory requirements
- Coordinating with vendors, title companies, and internal teams to facilitate efficient closings
- Tracking post-closing requirements, including insurance verification, lien perfection, and document imaging
- Maintaining accurate loan files and loan tracking systems
- Delivering exceptional service to both internal partners and external clients
- Supporting Smart Bank's commitment to integrity, compliance, and relationship-driven service
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field preferred
- Two or more years of commercial lending, loan operations, or related banking experience preferred
- Previous equipment finance experience is a plus
- Familiarity with UCC filings, lien perfection, and equipment financing processes
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent customer service and relationship-building abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
- Positive attitude, professionalism, and a strong sense of integrity
- Self-motivated team player who embraces change and continuous improvement
