University Physicians’ Association is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Office Manager to oversee the daily operations of University Surgical Associates
. This full-time position offers the opportunity to lead a thriving medical practice within the University of Tennessee Medical Center system
.
The Office Manager will be responsible for organizing and maintaining overall business office functions, ensuring operational efficiency, and driving continuous growth.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing scheduling, staffing, and front-office registration.
- Managing back-office operations, order tracking, and payroll.
- Ensuring quality control and insurance verification.
- Leading performance improvement initiatives and fostering a culture of excellence.

Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Key Responsibilities Administrative & Operational Oversight- Respond to administrative and technical inquiries with a high level of expertise.
- Resolve complex issues and share knowledge across the health system.
- Ensure compliance with the latest healthcare regulations, technologies, and trends.
- Maintain accurate medical records and enforce security standards per UPA/UHS policies.
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels and monitor scheduling patterns.
- Supervise and mentor office staff in accordance with department policies.
- Address employee concerns professionally and confidentially, implementing corrective action plans as necessary.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide recommendations for promotions, salary adjustments, and disciplinary actions.
- Foster a workplace culture that recognizes and rewards employee contributions.
- Ensure accurate data entry, audits, and reporting of clinic statistics.
- Oversee payroll processing, credentialing, and compliance with TOSHA, TJC, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure smooth clinic operations, optimizing efficiency and patient flow.
- Work closely with the billing office to manage insurance verification and patient accounts.
- Address patient concerns and ensure high standards of customer satisfaction.
- Implement processes to align with quality measures and department goals.
