Onsite Technology Specialist – Kimberly‑Clark

Overview

Support day‑to‑day operations of PCs, servers, and networking equipment at the Knoxville office. Coordinate small‑to‑medium IT projects and contribute to larger initiatives, serving executives and assistants as primary customers.

Responsibilities
  • Support operational maintenance of local data center and site IT infrastructure; evaluate feature and functionality changes.
  • Provide operational support for office computer systems and installed applications; resolve minor infrastructure problems and escalates higher impact issues.
  • Lead planning and execution of office infrastructure implementation projects.
  • Handle site‑IT administration, new employee onboarding, and training.
  • Procure IT infrastructure components following KC procurement process.
  • Install and support network equipment with assistance from Network Operations team.
  • Handle on‑site help desk problems that require a desk visit.
  • Image new PCs, installing necessary software.
  • Install and maintain UC video and network equipment with assistance from UC Operations team.
  • Plan and perform server maintenance, break/fix, and roadmap activities with Server team assistance.
  • Manage multi‑function device and printer fleet: procure, provide basic support, and escalates issues to vendor.
  • Document and coordinate IT hardware surplus process for inventory purposes.
  • Manage and coordinate local infrastructure vendors at the site.
  • Provide education to office users on K‑C technologies and proper use.
  • Manage communication plan for new technology implementations.
  • Relay future technology recommendations to management and ITS team members.
  • Maintain site ITS Business Continuity Plan.
  • Maintain 1‑to‑3 year ITS plan.
  • Ensure LAN and related computer systems comply with established control procedures.
Qualifications
  • College associate degree and 3+ years of relevant experience with demonstrated skills.
  • OR 7+ years of applied experience with the following skills: troubleshooting basic computer issues; familiar with Windows 7/10/11, Windows Server 2019, Cisco networking, LAN/Wi‑Fi, firewalls, Microsoft Office, Zoom and Teams, SharePoint, smartphones (iOS, Android).
  • Experience with ticketing system management (e.g., Service Now).
  • Ability to work onsite in person – 5 days a week; flexibility required.
