Associate Attorney
A Trial Attorney specializing in Business Law is sought to represent clients in complex commercial litigation matters, including contract disputes, shareholder disagreements, intellectual property infringement, and trade secret misappropriation cases. This role requires strong analytical skills, exceptional courtroom presence, and a deep understanding of business law principles to develop and execute effective trial strategies, conduct thorough discovery, and advocate for clients' interests in court proceedings.
DutiesAnd Responsibilities
- Case Management:
Lead all aspects of litigation from initial intake through trial, including pre-trial discovery, motion practice, witness preparation, and settlement negotiations. - Legal Research and Analysis:
Conduct in-depth legal research to identify relevant case law and statutes, assess legal issues, and develop persuasive arguments. - Courtroom Advocacy:
Present compelling arguments to judges and juries, effectively examine and cross-examine witnesses, and skillfully navigate courtroom procedures. - Client Communication:
Maintain open communication with clients, provide regular updates on case progress, and advise on strategic options throughout the litigation process. - Document Drafting:
Prepare and file various legal documents, including complaints, answers, motions, briefs, and discovery requests. - Team
Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with other attorneys, paralegals, and investigators to build a strong case strategy.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Active membership in the Tennessee state bar
- 5+ years of experience in business litigation, with a proven track record of success in court
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Deep understanding of complex business law concepts, including contracts, corporate governance, and intellectual property
- Ability to manage a demanding caseload and work effectively under pressure
- Sitting for long duration
- Fine motor skills:
Necessary for tasks like writing, typing on a computer, and handling documents. - Visual acuity:
Clear vision to read legal documents and presentation
