Role summary
Manage a department of five groups, two Assistant Managers. Total of eleven employees, responsible for
- Regional Sourcing Office, Export and Cost Competitive sourcing
- Service Parts and Accessories Purchasing
- Purchasing systems, reporting and training
- Material cost and performance tracking, product cost optimization process, planning round development
- Capacity Management, bottle neck steering for group affiliated components
Represent Purchasing in Production Board Meeting, Investment Committee and other investment and program related meetings locally and in the Group Represent Purchasing in Product Cost Optimization meetings and coordinate purchasing activities
Strategic planning to ensure demand and production programs can be met Develop continuous improvement ideas to optimize purchasing processes and systems
Manage service parts and accessories purchasing process and implementation of service parts strategies
Manage the material cost and performance reporting process for purchasing to ensure target achievement
Role responsibilities
Manage and lead a team of buyers to ensure alignment of strategic plans for the regional sourcing office
Develop sourcing strategies regarding focus supplier and focus parts in the NAR Region Identify new group suppliers and technologies
Identify cost competitive sourcing opportunities
Act as the central partner to the Group purchasing teams related to US / CA suppliers
Develop strategies to increase US Dollar sourcing for the Group Manage supplier relationships for the sourcing process
Manage and lead team of buyers for Service parts and accessories, drive localizations to meet business plan Develop strategies to implement Group genuine parts strategy in the US to increase overall service parts sales
Ensure service part availability at parts deports and dealers
Ensure purchasing systems are implemented according to cycle plan, identify improvement opportunities, roll out of new systems
Develop training plans for various purchasing functions, ensure proper training for new systems and processes
Coordination of ISO activities within the purchasing department
Conduct process improvement workshops and ensure proper documentation and training of improved processes and procedures
Develop and provide various reports to Purchasing management as requested
Coordinate with Logistics capacity management process to ensure demands can be fulfilled
Run weekly demand/capacity management review process with purchasing management
Represent Purchasing in various production and program decision meetings
Ensure on time development of capacity and force majeure studies to support various volume and take rate scenarios
Continuous improvement of capacity process with production purchasing, readiness purchasing, logistics, quality, and engineering
Ensure transparent and prioritized capacity analysis to meet future demands
Coordinate and present capacity investment presentations to top management
Central contact for Group and COP part capacity analysis and demand assurance
Manage the material cost and performance tracking with controlling to ensure proper and on time reporting
Manage the product cost optimization process within Purchasing as well coordinate purchasing activities with engineering and other related departments
Participate in business plan meetings with commodities to support target achievement
Coordinate planning round activities for Purchasing Budget responsibility for Central Functions
