Aramark Facilities Management is hiring a Maintenance Worker to help maintain and repair buildings, equipment, and grounds at our facility in Knoxville, TN
. This hands-on maintenance technician role pays $21.00 an hour and is ideal for dependable individuals who enjoy solving problems and working with tools. Daily responsibilities include completing routine building maintenance, repairing doors, windows, fixtures, and equipment, and ensuring facilities remain safe and operational. This position works in both indoor and outdoor environments and may involve walking, standing, lifting, and performing physical tasks throughout the shift.
Candidates with experience as a maintenance technician, building maintenance worker, handyman, facilities maintenance associate, custodian, groundskeeper, or repair technician are encouraged to apply. Reliable attendance, a safety-first mindset, and a willingness to learn are essential for success in this role.
- Perform routine building maintenance and repairs on facilities, equipment, and grounds.
- Repair and maintain doors, windows, locks, fixtures, minor appliances, office equipment, and other building components.
- Conduct scheduled inspections to identify maintenance needs and address issues before they become larger problems.
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance checklists and work assignments.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment.
- Report major equipment failures, building concerns, or safety hazards to management.
- Maintain clean, safe, and functional work areas throughout the facility and all Aramark safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
- Provide friendly and professional service when interacting with customers, clients, and coworkers.
- Adapt to changing priorities and respond to maintenance requests as needed.

QualificationsRequired Qualifications
- Ability to safely perform general building maintenance and repair work.
- Ability to use common maintenance tools and equipment.
- Knowledge of basic workplace safety practices.
- Strong reliability, attendance, and work ethic.
- Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, customers, and supervisors.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, bend, kneel, walk, and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to wear required PPE and work safely in a facilities environment.
- 1+ years of building maintenance, facilities maintenance, handyman, custodian, grounds, or related experience.
- Experience performing preventive maintenance and basic repair work.
- Experience working in commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, or public facilities.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or mechanical systems.
This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
