Job Description
BGIS is looking for a Facility Manager to join the team in Knoxville, TN and surrounding areas. The Facility Manager is responsible for operations and budget management, service delivery management, project management, client relationship management, health and safety, and emergency preparedness and business continuity for an assigned portfolio.
Portfolio Management- Manages the operations and maintenance activities as well as annual facility programs of a portfolio of facilities.
- Ensures facility uptime objectives are met and the continued safe and reliable operations of the portfolio.
- Creates and implements annual facility management plans.
- Collaborates with relevant stakeholders and oversees the implementation of facility-related programs.
- Oversees maintenance and repair activities and performance of internal technicians and service providers, ensuring work is completed on time, safely, and meets quality requirements.
- Captures all relevant documentation (annual facility inspections, equipment data, project files, etc.) within service maintenance databases.
- Evaluates capital assets with stakeholders and recommends maintenance, repair, replacement, and inclusion within the capital budget.
- Seeks greater efficiencies through best practices, sustainable initiatives, and optimization of internal technicians.
- Optimizes the assigned portfolio and continuously creates value for the client.
- Ensures client obligations are met and resolves problems/conflicts while maintaining open communication.
- Provides regular written and oral reports to ensure client satisfaction.
- Recommends solutions and implements appropriate actions for issues.
- Monitors service delivery performance against established metrics/KPIs, identifies gaps, and executes corrective action plans.
- Monitors all service requests to ensure they are within agreed scope and escalates as needed.
- Ensures compliance with all legislated, corporate, and industry-related requirements (environmental, health and safety, building standards).
- Executes emergency preparedness, risk management, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans.
- Collaborates with stakeholders on incident management requirements.
- Acts as focal point of contact with Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security teams to ensure compliance with legislation and requirements.
- Administers vendor safety accreditation, training, and qualification as required.
- Facilitates safety meetings with vendors to maintain compliance.
- Monitors safe delivery of all work performed within assigned portfolios.
- Develops and maintains effective client relationships, ensuring ongoing satisfaction.
- Serves as focal point for escalation of facility-related issues.
- Meets budget for assigned portfolio and manages project expenses.
- Collaborates with Finance for affordability, budget management, and profitability.
- Liaises for expense monitoring reports and approves expenditures.
- Develops and executes project plans with related costs and budgets.
- Oversees project delivery and ensures minimal disruption to facilities.
- Liaises with stakeholders to update data into databases.
- Ensures all regulatory compliance requirements are performed and documentation is maintained.
- Collaborates with Procurement and Supply Chain teams to source and qualify vendors and procure goods and services.
- Ensures adequate inventory of tools and supplies for facility operations.
- Engages in employee-oriented activities: engagement, development, performance management, hiring, retention, and compensation recommendations.
- Associate degree (community college).
- 4 to 6 years of facility management experience.
- Strong facility operations and maintenance management abilities.
- Proficiency with facility equipment and building systems.
- Service delivery management skills.
- Budget management skills.
- Strong communication, influence, persuasion, and negotiation skills.
- Client relationship management skills.
- People leadership skills.
- Vendor management skills.

- Certified Facility Manager (IFMA).
- Certified Property Manager (IPREM).
- Facility Management Administrator designation (BOMI).
- Real Property Administrator designation (BOMI).
- Ability and willingness to travel about 50% of the time.
