Lakeshore Park Conservancy – Executive Director

The Executive Director of Lakeshore Park Conservancy serves as the chief executive and visionary leader of one of Knoxville’s highly treasured public spaces. Working in close partnership with the Board of Directors and the City of Knoxville, this role is responsible for advancing the Conservancy’s mission to steward, preserve, and enhance Lakeshore Park for generations to come.

The Executive Director provides strategic leadership across operations, fundraising, financial stewardship, capital projects, community engagement, and organizational growth—ensuring the park not only thrives today but remains a vibrant community asset for the next 100 years and beyond.

• Lead the development and execution of a long-term strategic vision for the Conservancy
• Provide visionary leadership by guiding the development and execution of the Conservancy’s long-term strategic vision for both the organization and Lakeshore Park
• Ensure all capital improvements and major initiatives align with the Park’s adopted Master Plan and advance its mission, sustainability, and community impact
• Collaborate with the City and other stakeholders on capital improvements and park priorities

• Build and sustain leadership for a comprehensive, diversified fundraising program that includes major gifts, foundation grants, corporate partnerships, legacy giving and special events
• Cultivate and steward relationships with donors, board members, and philanthropic partners to inspire long-term investment
• Oversee capital campaign strategies for major park projects or renovations. OR Direct the planning and execution of capital campaigns to successfully fund major park projects and transformative improvements

• Manage the organization’s budget, ensuring responsible financial stewardship and compliance with nonprofit regulations
• Manage contracts, vendor relationships, and partnership agreements with the City and third‑party organizations to ensure alignment with organizational goals and efficient operations
• Manage relationships with sports organizations operating programs in the park, including negotiating and enforcing use agreements, coordinating schedules, and addressing any activities that may impact other park users’ ability to enjoy the park
• Develop and implement strategies to drive continued growth in rental revenues while maintaining a high‑quality experience for all users

• Recruit, lead, and develop a high‑performing, results‑driven staff team
• Promote a collaborative, inclusive, and mission‑driven workplace culture that supports professional growth and accountability
• Support and work in partnership with the Board of Directors on governance, strategic planning, and fundraising to advance the Conservancy’s mission

• Annual compensation shall be commensurate with the successful candidate’s background and qualifications.
