Manufacturing Engineer | Direct Hire | Near Knoxville, TN
Gem Care is actively seeking experienced Manufacturing Engineers for a direct hire opportunity with one of East Tennessee’s top manufacturing companies located near Knoxville, TN. This is an opportunity to join a high-performing team where you’ll drive process improvement, lead new product launches, and make a measurable impact on production efficiency and quality.
What You’ll Do- Develop and implement cost-effective manufacturing processes aligned with product specifications and quality standards
- Lead manufacturing launch activities for new and revised products
- Analyze processes for cost reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency gains
- Interpret complex part drawings and understand design intent (GD&T required)
- Define and implement tools, gauges, fixtures, equipment, routings, and CMM/CNC programs
- Maintain accuracy of manufacturing routing databases (labor, cycle times, setup/changeover)
- Collaborate cross-functionally and represent Manufacturing on project teams
- Train internal staff and work with external technical support partners
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or equivalent
- 5+ years in a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of Lean principles
- Solid Works and/or CAM experience (plus)
- Strong shop-floor communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize and work with minimal supervision
- Team-oriented professional who can lead from the floor
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, climb, push/pull
- Lift up to 50 lbs
