Job Summary
Job Summary: The Material Handler Lead is responsible for safely operating forklift equipment within the manufacturing facility and/or distribution center ensuring that quality products are received, produced, and shipped in a timely manner as well as acting as point of contact and backup to DC Supervisor and Manager.

- Ensures all work / paperwork for the day is completed.
- Checks inventory levels in the DC on a daily basis.
- Ensures housekeeping and appropriate safety requirements are being followed.
- Able to act as backup to DC Management
- Operates forklift or stand‑up lift equipment safely and efficiently to receive, warehouse, and ship product.
- Performs vehicle safety checks and reports discrepancies to supervisor. Ensures all equipment is stored at the end of shift.
- Responsible for being proficient in two Primary Distribution Center functions:
- Production Receiving Functions including but not limited to managing circle/learning patterns, running palletizers, clearing jams, palletizer troubleshooting, and production receiving in D365.
- Case Pick Functions including but not limited to case pick, pallet pick, and related tablet functions.
- Pallet Running Functions including but not limited to running pallets, pallet put away, replenishment, bulk space utilization and related tablet functions.
- Truck Loading Functions including but not limited to loading trucks, loading math, and pre‑check inspections of trucks.
- Crew management
- Utilizes advanced functions in D365 for aged inventory management, planning communication, dock utilization optimization, and partial pallet management.
- Owns a Safety system in their area and maintains a system rating of seven or above.
- Actively participates in Multi Cause Analysis (MCA) and adds input within their area of expertise.
- Responsible for learning and maintaining customer standards for product specifications and acceptable quality.
- Reads and follows instructions regarding daily expectations, requirements, or specifications.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by keeping pallet, shipping and workstation areas neat, cleaning up aisles, picking up leftover pallets, sweeping the floors and keeping exits clear and free from obstructions.
- Accurately completes all quality, traceability, and production paperwork.
- Reports any product deficiencies, food or safety concerns to supervisor.
- Follows all safety procedures and participates in safety training. Maintains safe and efficient use of equipment, tools, and person. Reports any injury or accident immediately to supervisory and/or any unsafe condition.
- Supports and complies with GMP’s. Understands and follows emergency action plan.
- Other duties as assigned.
