Daxor has an immediate opening for a Radiopharmaceutical Production Director. We are seeking a highly motivated, organized, and talented candidate to lead our growing team to work on our radiopharmaceutical production demands. Our current focus is on new production capabilities for medical radioisotopes.

This person would be responsible for the full lifecycle of radiopharmaceutical production, including:

  • Production Oversight: Managing the day-to-day manufacturing of products, and any third-party contracts.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring all production activities strictly adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations, including those set by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and any specific state regulations for Tennessee.
  • Quality Control (QC) & Quality Assurance (QA): Working closely with quality teams to ensure products meet all specifications and cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practice) standards.
  • Staff Management: Hiring, training, and supervising a team of radio chemists, technicians, and other production personnel.
  • Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and safety in the manufacturing process.
  • Inventory and Supply Chain: Managing raw materials, ensuring a consistent supply of isotopes and other necessary components.
  • Safety and Radiation Protection: Implementing and enforcing strict radiation safety protocols to protect employees and the public.

Technical

Skills:

  • Radiochemistry/Radiopharmacy: In-depth knowledge of the chemical and physical properties of radioactive materials, as well as the specific production processes for diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Aseptic Manufacturing: Expertise in sterile and aseptic techniques, as radiopharmaceuticals are often administered intravenously.
  • Quality Systems: Familiarity with quality control methods, including chromatography and other analytical techniques used to ensure product purity and potency.
  • Radiation Safety: A strong understanding of radiation physics, dosimetry, and health physics principles.

Managerial

Skills:

  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate a technical and highly specialized team.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills for root cause analysis of production issues.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills to interact with internal teams, regulatory agencies, and potential third-party clients.
  • Strategic Planning: The ability to plan production schedules, manage budgets, and contribute to long-term business goals.
