SCOPE & BASIC FUNCTION
:

  • Responsible for testing raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished products to ensure conformance to all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and company standards.
  • Capable of working with minimal to no supervision.
  • Able to organize and coordinate multiple tasks and activities.
  • Familiar with laboratory methods.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
:

  • Inspect, sample, prepare, and evaluate ingredients, components, intermediate products, and finished products for quality parameters in a safe, sanitary, and productive manner and report results.
  • Follow prescribed procedures and test methods and evaluate results against specifications.
  • Maintain chain of custody for quarantined inventory, including dispositioning in the Net Suite system.
  • Interact with Purchasing and Suppliers while managing quality issues and on a regular basis.


OTHER FUNCTIONS:

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Prepare samples and conduct in-line and off-line testing.
  • Conduct calibration and verification activities.
  • Inspect and approve incoming materials, including reviewing COA’s.
  • Maintain quality documentation and assist in developing and updating

    Standard Operating Procedures(SOPs), Work Instructions, and other documentation as requested.
  • Inspect equipment, surface, and areas, including preparing samples for microbiological testing.
  • Conduct and/or attend training.

General Responsibilities

  • Understand and follow all Woodstream and customer policies, safety rules, SOPs, current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), good laboratory practices, FDA, and other regulatory requirements (as applicable).
  • Maintain positive and professional working relationships with superiors and peers from all departments, and with customers.
  • Assist in all other duties/projects as assigned by supervisor and/or management, including but not limited to assisting on production lines.
  • Keep all work areas neat, clean, and orderly in compliance with cGMP standards.
  • Work in the QC capacity however qualifications, needs, and work volume permit; i.e. work may not be confined to one production facility or area.
  • Understand the overall workflow for each area of responsibility.
  • Encourage, support, and champion QC requirements and cGMP.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/OTHER SKILLS
:

  • Associate degree or higher, preferably in science discipline; equivalent experience may be considered
  • Laboratory experience preferred
  • Math skills, including algebra, unit conversion, rounding, percentages, and statistics
