Geologist – Resilience Environment Team
Arcadis is seeking a Geologist to join our Resilience Environment team in Knoxville, TN. This role focuses on environmental site characterization, investigation, and remediation, with a strong emphasis on fieldwork and safety.
Role DescriptionAs part of the team, you will support Project Managers and Task Managers in planning and executing environmental projects related to soil, water, and air quality, pollution mitigation, and ecosystem protection.
Responsibilities- Assist PMs and TMs in planning and executing site characterization, investigation, and remediation tasks.
- Perform fieldwork: collect soil, air/vapor, groundwater, and surface water samples; oversee subcontractors and drilling operations; maintain remedial systems.
- Provide emergency response support for train derailments/HAZMAT spills, with potential travel across the US.
- Prepare technical reports, work plans, letters, and memoranda.
- Coordinate site visits, equipment procurement, and laboratory sampling.
- Assist in subcontracts preparation and oversight.
- Engage in data analysis, proposal development, budgeting, scheduling, and regulatory file review.
- Support safety planning and health & safety compliance.
- Travel up to 50% within Tennessee to visit client sites.
Required
- Bachelor of Science in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field.
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
Preferred
- Master of Science degree in Geology or related field.
- Current OSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER training.
- Experience supervising environmental drilling.

SalarySalary range: $58,320 – $87,480 per year, depending on experience, education, budget, and location.
