The Technician, Facility Services, HVAC-Refrigeration is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial and industrial settings. This role involves interpreting technical schematics, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The Technician performs preventive maintenance, leads field teams, and supports operational efficiency through effective communication and coordination. This position requires adherence to company policies and standards while contributing to continuous improvement and customer satisfaction within assigned facilities and regions.

Role summary:
The Technician, Facility Services, HVAC-Refrigeration is responsible for:
- Installing, configuring, and calibrating HVAC and refrigeration systems, including ductwork, control panels, and building pneumatics, ensuring compliance with building codes and operational specifications.
- Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues in commercial and industrial systems.
- Performing preventive maintenance and repairs on refrigeration units, walk-ins, reach-ins, and rack systems to minimize downtime.
- Conducting inspections and maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local HVAC/R regulations, including refrigerant handling and documentation.
- Leading and mentoring field teams on technical procedures and safety practices.
- Managing service calls, coordinating with external providers, and maintaining accurate records using digital tools.
- Operating company vehicles safely to complete service assignments within assigned regions.
Proven experience installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial or industrial settings. Ability to interpret layout plans, schematics, and building codes to ensure accurate system configuration and compliance. Skilled in diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues and implementing effective solutions. Knowledge of EPA 608 refrigerant handling protocols and OSHA safety standards. Experience leading teams and mentoring technicians on technical procedures and safety practices.
Strong communication skills to explain technical information clearly to customers and team members. Proficient in using digital tools for scheduling, inventory tracking, and service documentation. Valid driver's license with the ability to operate company vehicles safely.

Option 1:
Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years' experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls. Option 2: 4 years' experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field. Hold and maintains Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling. Where required, HVAC-R/ Mechanical Journeyman.
Valid state-issued driver's license and ability to pass motor vehicle report. Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years. Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years. No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years. No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.

Completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical HVAC/R program, Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Mechanical license in city and/or state where job is located, Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams, Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
