The Juvenile Justice Services Coordinator

Duties:

  • Essential functions include ensuring team members are performing as expected according to the conditions outlined in the service agreements with Grantors and the courts.
  • The services coordinator ensures regular communication with community partners to maintain successful working relationships.

JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY

Summary of role of team
:

  • The juvenile justice team is an essential part of the services provided by the McNabb Center and has long-standing partnerships with courts in Knox and surrounding communities for over 30 years.
  • Serving this population prevents children from unnecessary separation from their families and also increases community safety.

Summary of position
:

  • The Services Coordinator will be responsible for providing supervision and program oversite for TRP Detention, JJDR, CTT and other programs as assigned.
  • These programs provide therapeutic interventions for custody prevention, intensive therapeutic probation and assessment and crisis intervention in detention centers.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT

  • Services Coordinator will complete work in the office and community.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provide supervision and oversight of JJDR, CTT and TRP Detention Programs.

  • Meet with supervisors and/or staff on a regular basis to review progress of clients in the program.
  • Assist with challenges to help ensure the best outcomes for clients.
  • Monitor productivity to ensure program standards and outcomes are met.
  • Monitor documentation and training requirements for staff.

2. Provide program oversite

  • Manage referrals to all programs under their supervision.
  • Attend relevant meetings with DCS, Juvenile Courts, Schools and other community stakeholders regarding juvenile justice services to maintain strong partnerships.
  • Obtain and provide data for monthly reports to McNabb and / or Grantors as required.
  • Ensure that daily contact logs are collected and reviewed.
  • Notify supervisor immediately of any serious issues with clients or community partners.

3. Administrative Tasks

  • Services Coordinator will complete monthly and quarterly reports as required.
  • Review documentation in EMR and Quest periodically to ensure compliance.
  • Address any personnel issues as they arise.

4. Professional Development

  • Complete 40 hours of professional development training per fiscal year.
  • Will attend conferences such as TJCSA annually or as available.
  • Attend any other mandatory HRMC training or training that supervisor deems necessary.

COMPENSATION:

  • Starting salary for this position is approximately $69,155 /yr based on relevant experience and education.

Schedule:

  • Schedule will include daytime work and afternoon / evening hours.
  • In-person attendance is essential for this position.

Travel
:

  • Supervisor is expected to travel to Knox County and 15 surrounding counties to meet with community partners and provide coverage for services.

Equipment/Technical Competency
:

  • Must be capable of using a computer for documentation purposes and using technology appropriately to communicate with clients.

Equipment/Technology:

  • Use of technology includes computer use for documentation and phone use for communicating with clients.
