The Katie Miller 2 Residential Team Leader

Job Summary
  • The Team Leader is responsible for supervision of direct care staff and supervision of clients in the milieu including facilitation of a safe, positive, and therapeutic milieu.
  • This position is also responsible for administration of the program rules and level system.
  • The team leader will participate in the on call rotation, treatment team, and evening client groups.
  • This position will also develop the monthly staff schedule and lead the monthly staff meetings.

1. Supervision of Clients Monitoring
  • Supervise and monitor clients in a therapeutic manner as evidenced by knowing their location at all times, talking calmly and rationally, and using the point system for behavioral issues.
  • Responsible for enforcing program rules as evidenced by using the point system
  • Arrive on time and ready to go at beginning of shift.
  • Support and foster family involvement by supervising weekly visitation and/or checking clients in/out of the facility for weekly passes as evidenced by documentation on the visitation log, progress notes and temporary custody agreements.
Therapeutic Environment
  • Coach and assist clients in being successful in meeting program expectations as evidenced by documentation in progress notes and verbal displays in treatment team discussions.
  • Monitor client's behaviors and participate by giving significant client information and feedback in weekly treatment team meetings.
  • Utilize active listening techniques as evidence by verbal and nonverbal communication.
2. Paperwork
  • Responsible for completing all paperwork
  • Responsible for completing daily shift notes.
  • Responsible for completing incident reports for incidents on their shift.
  • Responsible for notifying appropriate individuals asap.
Chart audits
  • Perform random chart audits of progress notes.
3. Safe Environment Drug screens/searches
  • Conduct/assist in searches when clients return from home pass, at time of intake, and any other time there is suspicion on relapse.
  • Conduct/assist in obtaining drug screens when clients return from home pass, at time of intake, and any other time there is suspicion on relapse.
Therapeutic Holds
  • Perform and assist staff with therapeutic holds as needed when on shift.
Facility
  • Perform vehicle checks, fire drills, and AED checks monthly and document as required.
4. Evening Groups Conduct Groups
  • Conduct/ assist A&D/mental health groups when on shift.
  • Developing and maintaining curriculum for evening groups.
5. Housekeeping Meals/Cleanliness
  • Prepare/assist in preparing meals as needed on shift.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and productive work/living environment.
6. Professionalism Professional Communication
  • Verbal communication given in a calm and positive manner 100% of the time as evidenced by tone and demeanor.
  • Written communication should be clean and professional.
Appearance
  • Dress comfortably but professionally as an authority figure for the clients
7. Professional Development Training
  • Complete all written trainings/test within the time frames set by center guidelines.
  • Attend and participate in all center required trainings.
  • Prepare for and lead monthly staff meetings.
