Description:

CGI is seeking an AWS Python Developer to design, develop, and support modern cloud native applications in a highly scalable AWS environment. The role focuses on backend development using Python, containerized deployments, API integrations, and AWS services such as ECS and Lambda. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable solutions, contribute to modern development practices, and support full‑stack application initiatives when needed.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain production‑grade backend services using Python.
• Build and deploy containerized applications with Docker and orchestrate them in AWS ECS.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate with internal and external systems.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines, automated deployment processes, and Dev Ops best practices.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production application issues.
• Collaborate in Agile development environments and contribute to software architecture, scalability, and cloud‑native design principles.
• Stay current with AWS services, especially serverless technologies such as Lambda.
• Validate and support MCP (Model Context Protocol) and agentic AI development concepts.

Required qualifications:

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including Python development and AWS cloud services.
• Experience supporting and deploying applications in production environments.
• Hands‑on experience with Docker and containerized application development.
• Deep understanding of AWS services, particularly ECS and Lambda.
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automated deployment processes, and Dev Ops best practices.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in Agile development environments.
• Familiarity with MCP and agentic AI development concepts.
• Understanding of software architecture, scalability, and cloud‑native design principles.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Desired skillset:

• Node.js development experience.
• React‑based frontend development.
• PostgreSQL database design and optimization.
• Experience with Playwright for automated testing.
• AWS certifications (AWS Certified Developer, Solutions Architect, or similar). Preferred but not required.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.

Compensation: $55,700.00–$ (estimated range).
