SUMMARY

Northline Seafoods is seeking motivated, detail-oriented Vessel Office Assistants to support day-to-day administrative operations during the 2026 Bristol Bay salmon season. This role is based aboard the Hannah, our stationary floating processing facility anchored near Dillingham, Alaska.

This is a hands‑on, fast‑paced position that plays a key role in supporting both crew experience and overall operational efficiency during peak season.

This is a temporary, seasonal position aligned with the Bristol Bay salmon run (approximately June–August 2026).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Support daily office operations including email communication, radio/phone coordination, and supply management
  • Assist the Senior Vessel Administrator with operation of the onboard sea store
    , including:
    • Processing transactions
    • Handling cash accurately
    • Maintaining proper documentation and daily reconciliation
  • Maintain organized and accurate physical and digital filing systems
  • Provide responsive, professional support to crew and visitors onboard
  • Collect, review, and organize fish tickets and tender delivery documentation for shoreside processing
  • Assist with employee onboarding and logistics
    , including:
    • Room assignments
    • Key tracking
    • Coordination with housekeeping
    • Supporting safety and onboarding processes
  • Monitor and support timekeeping and attendance tracking to ensure alignment with scheduled shifts
  • Provide administrative support to the Quality Assurance team, including data entry as needed
  • Manage equipment and key check‑in/check‑out processes
  • Assist with basic first aid response when needed
  • Jump in where needed—this role requires flexibility and a team‑first mindset in a dynamic environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in an office setting, administrative role, or similar capacity preferred – bonus if you’ve previously worked with fisheries.
  • Basic knowledge of cash handling and sales recording systems.
  • Experience with time tracking software or willingness to learn.
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work 12+ hour days, 7 days per week over a 60+ day season in Bristol Bay, AK.
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.

This job largely operates in an office environment, though navigation of wet, slippery, and close quarters aboard a barge setting will be required. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, and both physical and digital filing cabinets. The employee must be able to sit or stand at a computer for long periods of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively with barge management.

Must be able to lift 30 pounds individually and up to 60 pounds with assistance.
