Supervisory Recreation Specialist (Theater Manager) Temp PT – 6825

Temporary PT 20–29 hrs. Management. Kodiak, AK, US.

Salary Range: $27.00 To $30.00 Hourly.

Supervisory Recreation Specialist (Theater Manager);
Salary: $27.00–$30.00/hour + DOE.

Temp Part Time, NTE 1 Year*

Location:

Kodiak, AK. MWR Billiken Theater.

Responsibilities
  • Overall management and direction of the 400‑seat movie theater on Base Kodiak.
  • Plan and promote theater operations, including scheduling and ordering movies, scheduling use for training and all‑hands events, and preparing publicity releases.
  • Negotiate agreements with the Navy Motion Picture Service.
  • Maintain theater equipment and take corrective actions for maintenance problems.
  • Supervise and train employees; plan work schedules, appraise performance, counsel personnel, and recommend personnel actions.
  • Prepare and submit annual operating budget requirements.
  • Direct operations of a short‑order concession stand: order inventory, conduct inventories, reconcile sales receipts, and make deposits.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Professional knowledge of movie theater operations acquired through formal education or a combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of operation and maintenance of theater equipment.
  • Experience supervising support staff.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Three years of professional experience in movie theater operations, including retail, supervision of support staff, and personnel procedures.

Other Essential Information
  • Residency requirements:
    Non‑U.S. nationals must have resided in the United States or territories for at least three of the last five years.
  • Participation in Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer required.
  • Selective Service registration required for males born after 12/31/59 and at least 18 years of age unless exempt.
  • Successful completion of a federal background check and all pre‑employment requirements.
