Job Overview

The University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) is seeking qualified individuals to fill a full‑time, tenure‑track, faculty position starting the fall semester of 2026. UAA’s Construction Management program is part of the Building Technologies Division housed within the University’s Community & Technical College and is fully accredited by the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE). The program enjoys strong community and professional support.

Responsibilities

& Expectations

To thrive in this role, the candidate should have experience in online course development and teaching; demonstrated experience with community business outreach; and the ability to teach courses in construction supervision, project management/scheduling, building codes, site surveying, architecture, civil engineering concepts, commercial construction techniques, and knowledge of steel and concrete structures. The candidate must be able to integrate appropriate computer technology, including building information modeling (BIM) and construction scheduling/job control software, into the curriculum, as well as sustainable building principles and circumpolar construction conditions.

Commitment to teaching excellence, evidence of scholarly or creative activity, and the ability to work effectively with a diverse student body and faculty are essential.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a Master’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil or Structural Engineering, Architecture, a 5‑year professional degree in Architecture, or a Master’s degree in a related discipline.

OR a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or Civil Engineering with a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in the construction industry, of which at least four (4) years must be in a responsible charge position such as construction or project manager.

This full‑time, tenure‑track position is located at the University of Alaska Anchorage in Anchorage, Alaska.
