This position is a Student Assistant 2 Labor Pool at the University of Alaska, Kodiak.
To thrive in this role of Student Assistant, be familiar with the Kodiak College campus, resources, procedures and processes. Applicant needs to have strong oral and written communication skills, be a quick learner and have the ability to work well with the public. Accuracy and attention to detail, excellent organizational skills with proficient use of MS Office programs, email and internet research.
Must be dependable, punctual, and have the ability to exercise independent judgment and maintain confidentiality.
Students must maintain enrollment and regular attendance for a minimum of at least 6 undergraduate credit hours or 6 graduate credit hours to be exempt from FICA (Social Security and Medicare) tax. A credit hour load below the minimum required for full-time student status will require the withholding of FICA tax (non-resident aliens on an appropriate visa who meet student employment criteria will continue to be exempt from FICA regardless of credit hour load).
While in a student position, a student cannot hold any other type of simultaneous employment with the university. Must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0.
This position is located on the Kodiak College campus in Kodiak. This is a part-time, Student Assistant 2 position. New hires will be placed on UA Student Salary Schedule based on education and experience.
Students who are eligible for Work Study funding will be given preference.
