Responsibilities

Adjunct Instructors teach course(s) for the Fall/Spring/Summer semesters on a semester-by-semester basis.

Qualifications
  • Knowledge of accepted instruction methods.
  • Outstanding ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Strong public speaking and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, students, and administration within a diverse rural campus community.
  • University, community, or technical college teaching experience preferred. At least two years of experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience teaching traditional campus-based courses and distance education (eLearning) in rural communities strongly preferred.
  • Minimum qualification:

    Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in a field related to the position, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Applicants must meet faculty guidelines for the appropriate department at the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) to teach for Kodiak College, a community campus of UAA.
  • All asynchronous instructors must have in-house (UAA) or Quality Matters training prior to teaching classes.
  • To be eligible, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction. Applicants who require visa sponsorship at any time are not eligible.

  • Salary:
    Adjunct salary schedule as outlined in UNAD CBA.
  • This is a pooled position; applications are reviewed as needed. Submission does not guarantee review or a job offer.

  • Position is represented by United Academic – Adjuncts, AAUP‑AFT/AFL‑CIO.
