Responsibilities
Adjunct Instructors teach course(s) for the Fall/Spring/Summer semesters on a semester-by-semester basis.
Qualifications- Knowledge of accepted instruction methods.
- Outstanding ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Strong public speaking and customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, students, and administration within a diverse rural campus community.
- University, community, or technical college teaching experience preferred. At least two years of experience strongly preferred.
- Experience teaching traditional campus-based courses and distance education (eLearning) in rural communities strongly preferred.
- Minimum qualification:
Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in a field related to the position, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. - Applicants must meet faculty guidelines for the appropriate department at the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) to teach for Kodiak College, a community campus of UAA.
- All asynchronous instructors must have in-house (UAA) or Quality Matters training prior to teaching classes.
- To be eligible, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction. Applicants who require visa sponsorship at any time are not eligible.

University of Alaska campus in Kodiak. - Position type:
Part‑time, temporary, adjunct represented. - Salary:
Adjunct salary schedule as outlined in UNAD CBA. - This is a pooled position; applications are reviewed as needed. Submission does not guarantee review or a job offer.

- Position is represented by United Academic – Adjuncts, AAUP‑AFT/AFL‑CIO.
- Union represented adjunct position.
- Required to complete a background check. Any offer is contingent on the background check.
