D2 Government Solutions is seeking a full-time qualified Aviation Life Support Equipment (ALSE) Inspector/Maintainer to support aviation maintenance services at U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak in Kodiak Station, Alaska. The selected candidate will support inspection, maintenance, repair, documentation, and safe handling of aviation rescue, survival, protective, and liquid oxygen (LOX) equipment in accordance with applicable technical guidance, safety requirements, and customer procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect, maintain, repair, and test aviation life support, rescue, survival, and protective equipment.
  • Support scheduled and unscheduled maintenance actions for ALSE and aircraft-related survival equipment.
  • Service, function test, troubleshoot, and support maintenance of aircraft LOX systems and related equipment.
  • Use technical manuals, maintenance procedure cards, engineering instructions, and approved guidance to complete assigned work.
  • Document maintenance actions accurately and on time in required maintenance systems, records, or logbooks.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, including proper care and control of tools and equipment.
  • Follow safety, personal protective equipment (PPE), hazardous material, and hazardous waste handling requirements.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of the U.S. Coast Guard Aviation Survival Technician School or Department of Defense Aviation Life Safety Equipment School; alternatively, civilian/contractor candidates with an FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license may qualify with equivalent training and required experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience inspecting, maintaining, and modifying aviation rescue and survival equipment; 5 years of experience is desired.
  • Experience with ALSE parts, components, assemblies, rigging, function testing, troubleshooting, and repair determinations.
  • Ability to read, understand, and apply technical manuals, technical orders, blueprints, sketches, and related maintenance documents.
  • Experience with LOX container servicing, LOX system troubleshooting, and aviation safety procedures is strongly preferred.
  • Experience using U.S. Coast Guard systems such as Aviation Technical Information Portal (ATIP), Aviation Logistics Maintenance Information System (ALMIS), or similar maintenance information systems is preferred.
  • Must be able to meet physical work requirements, including frequent lifting up to 20 pounds and occasional lifting/carrying of approximately 50 pounds with assistance or mechanical devices.
Access, Security, and Eligibility Requirements

Common Access Card (CAC): Yes; candidate must be able to obtain and maintain CAC eligibility.
Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
U.S. Citizenship

Required:

Yes.
English Proficiency: Yes; candidate must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
Computer Systems

Experience:

ATIP, ALMIS, or similar aviation maintenance documentation systems preferred.
Microsoft Suite Proficiency: Yes; basic proficiency preferred for reporting, documentation, and communication.

Work will be performed at U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak in an aviation maintenance environment. The position may involve work around aircraft, tools, equipment, regulated materials, hazardous materials, LOX equipment, and areas requiring PPE. The selected candidate must follow all applicable safety procedures and customer site requirements.
