Position
City Manager (Full‑time Contracted Exempt) for the City of Kodiak.
SalarySalary is dependent on qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities- Plan, direct, manage, and oversee all activities and operations of the City under the policy direction of the City Council.
- Execute City laws and ordinances and implement policy decisions made by the City Council.
- Provide information on policy, legislative, and financial decisions to the City Council.
- Ensure public services are delivered efficiently and effectively.
- Maintain contact with citizens to determine problems and provide information.
- Facilitate development and implementation of City goals and objectives.
- Provide complex administrative support to the City Council.
- Maintain professional expertise that promotes efficient use of City resources.
- Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of five to seven years of experience in municipal government administrative or executive capacity.
- At least five years of supervisory and personnel management experience.
- Investment or related experience, or equivalently demonstrated knowledge, skills, and ability.
- Ability to succeed in a city manager role as described above.
At the time of appointment, the manager need not be resident of the City or State; during tenure, the manager shall reside within the City.
