Registered Nurse – Surgery

Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care across the surgical continuum, including pre-op, intra-op, and post-op.
• Support surgeons and anesthesia providers by preparing the OR, anticipating needs, and maintaining a sterile, efficient environment.
• Monitor patient status, document accurately, and respond quickly to changes during procedures.
• Collaborate with the entire surgical team to ensure smooth case flow, patient comfort, and exceptional outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an active Alaska RN license (or ability to obtain).
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience; previous OR or perioperative experience strongly preferred.
• Strong critical thinking, adaptability, and communication skills, with the ability to stay focused under pressure.
