Position Overview
Medical Laboratory Scientist – Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center (Kodiak, AK)
Full-time, 0.9 FTE, 12‑hr variable shifts, 40 hours per week.
$7,500 hiring bonus for eligible external hires meeting qualification and payment conditions. Relocation assistance available for eligible hires.
ResponsibilitiesThe Medical Technologist conducts clinical diagnostic testing on inpatients, outpatients, and residents, including blood draws and specimen collection for processing. Performs therapeutic phlebotomy. Conducts quality control procedures on patient tests and laboratory equipment to ensure accurate diagnostic testing. Reports patient data to the medical record and/or medical staff when results warrant direct contact.
Required Qualifications- Education to meet certification, license or registration requirement.

National Medical Laboratory Scientist – American Society for Clinical Pathology (or equivalent). - Within 1 year of hire:
National Clinical Laboratory Scientist – American Society for Clinical Pathology (or equivalent). - Within 1 year of hire:
National Medical Technologist – American Medical Technologists (or equivalent). - Within 1 year of hire:
National Medical Technologist – American Society for Clinical Pathology (or equivalent). - Within 1 year of hire:
National Medical Technologist – American Association of Bioanalysts (or equivalent).
- 2 years work experience in a clinical laboratory.

PayBase salary range: $37.08 – $55.62 per hour. Additional compensation may be available such as shift differential, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
