POSITION OVERVIEW

The Treatment Plant Supervisor is a full-time position working at the Kodiak Island Borough Landfill Leachate Treatment Plant for the Engineering & Facilities Department. This position is directly responsible for supervising the operations of the landfill’s leachate treatment plant and associated equipment. Duties include ensuring compliance with applicable water quality regulations, operating and maintaining equipment, monitoring compliance with applicable procedures, providing training to staff, and reviewing work for conformance with policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma or GED and five (5) years of water/wastewater treatment plant operations and maintenance experience, including three (3) years of experience operating a level 2 wastewater treatment plant; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

SALARY

The starting salary is $77,753 – 83,731 annually, DOQ; the full salary range is $77,753 – $104,567 annually.

Employees are eligible for annual salary increases upon a satisfactory performance evaluation, up to the top of the salary range.

EMPLOYER

The Kodiak Island Borough (KIB) is a regional local government with offices located in the City of Kodiak. KIB is comprised of seven operating departments and an average of 45 employees. The Engineering and Facilities Department is responsible for managing the municipal solid waste of residents and businesses residing along the connected road system of the greater Kodiak city area. These responsibilities include providing for solid waste collection and disposal via landfill operations and contracted services.
